Steven Siluma is a South African traditional gospel artist and part of the Siluma musical lineage. He came into prominence during a key period for Zulu music in the 1990s and is best known for his 1993 album “Ngithunyiwe” as well as the collaboration “Inyanga Enkulu” with Fountain of Salvation. His music is rooted in Isigqi, a drum-driven traditional gospel style strongly connected to both rural and urban faith settings across South Africa.
He is a contemporary and relative of producer Richard Siluma, who worked with major acts such as Lucky Dube and Stimela. While Richard moved into reggae and disco production, Steven remained focused on spiritually grounded storytelling and the preservation of Zulu cultural and religious expression through his music.
